The stretch film production process is a complex and delicate process designed to produce films with high strength, high transparency and good heat sealing properties. The following are the main processes involved in stretch film production:
Firstly, raw material preparation. High-quality polymers such as polypropylene, polyethylene or polyester are selected and pre-treated by drying and mixing to ensure the purity and homogeneity of the raw materials. This step is critical to ensure the final properties of the film.
The next step is extrusion casting of the film. The pre-treated raw material is fed into the extruder of stretch film machine , where it is heated and melted, and then extruded through the die into a thick sheet. The extrusion process requires precise control of temperature, pressure and extrusion speed to ensure uniformity and quality of the thick sheet.
This is followed by the stretching stage. After the extruded thick sheet is cooled and shaped, it enters the longitudinal stretching unit. Under the action of the stretching machine, the thick sheet is stretched along the longitudinal direction so that the molecular chains are oriented and arranged in the longitudinal direction. Parameters such as longitudinal stretching temperature, stretching ratio and stretching speed have an important influence on the properties of the final product. After completion of longitudinal stretching, the film enters the transverse stretching unit, where it is stretched in the transverse direction by two sets of rollers with different speeds to further enhance the mechanical properties and dimensional stability of the film.
After stretching is completed, the film enters the heat-setting zone. It is kept at a high temperature for a period of time to fix the oriented molecular structure and thus obtain stable properties. The temperature and time of heat setting need to be adjusted according to the type of raw material and product requirements.
After heat setting, the film needs to be cooled quickly to fix its shape and properties. This is followed by trimming and winding, where the stretched film is neatly wound to ensure that it is free from imperfections such as wrinkles and air bubbles. The winding should be done in a consistent manner and at a consistent speed to prevent deformation or damage to the film during the winding process.
Finally, the film is inspected for quality. Visual inspections, thickness measurements, and tensile strength tests are usually used to ensure that the film meets the specified technical standards. This step is critical to ensuring the quality of the film and meeting customer needs.
In summary, the stretch film production process involves raw material preparation, extrusion casting, longitudinal stretching, transverse stretching, heat setting, cooling, cutting, winding and quality testing and so on. Each step has a profound impact on the performance of the final product, and it is necessary to strictly control the parameters to ensure the production of high-quality stretch film products.
